Everyday Parimal Rice is also called as Patna rice as it is extensively grown in Indo-Gangetic plains of in and around Patna, which is the capital of Bihar state in India. It belongs to the variety of Oryza sativa species and is a long grain white rice. It has got an elongated kernel with grain length greater than 6mm. This is a mildly flavoured rice, which has a robust, long, arrow and opaque grain, making its shape ideal for curries. Basmati rice is closely related to parimal rice, but comparatively has a stronger aroma. Moreover, this rice is rich in carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals and is good for overall health of the body.
